Clinical Practice

I am a clinical psychologist working in NYC who specializes in the treatment of substance misuse and other behaviors using an integrative harm reduction framework. As Assistant Director of the Concentration in Mental Health and Substance Abuse Counseling at The New School and Assistant Director of The Center for Optimal Living, I get to combine my interests in teaching and mentoring with clinical practice.  My approach is interactive and focuses on the development of practical skills to manage intense emotions, reduce self-judgment, and promote self-compassion.  I incorporate mindfulness and cognitive-behavioral techniques in my work and provide individual and group therapy.

Two articles I wrote about my clinical work using mindfulness and yoga for recovery.org can be found here.

Consultation & Trainings

I have organized and participated in several workshops and trainings on the topics of mindfulness, trauma, and integrative harm reduction psychotherapy.  I am available to consult with organizations who want to incorporate harm reduction and mindfulness techniques into their programs.

Visit Events page for information about upcoming trainings and to learn more about the Harm Reduction Psychotherapy Certificate Program at The New School for Social Research.
