I am the Assistant Director of The Center for Optimal Living where I coordinate clinical services and training activities along with providing individual psychotherapy.Together with Dr. Andrew Tatarsky, I started the first-ever Harm Reduction Psychotherapy Certificate Program. I also work as an Assistant Professor and Assistant Director of Clinical Training at The New School for Social Research and am Assistant Director of the Concentration in Mental Health and Substance Abuse Counseling.
In my clinical work at The Center for Optimal Living, I provide individual psychotherapy using an integrative harm reduction framework where the focus is on developing a collaborative and compassionate relationship with my clients to promote positive change. See Practice for additional information about my clinical approach.
I'm especially interested in providing mindfulness-based interventions and working with survivors of trauma. I completed a 5-day intensive training on Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention in October 2014, and utilize that approach in my work.
I'm available for consultations and can provide trainings on a variety of topics related to substance misuse, harm reduction, mindfulness approaches, and working with trauma survivors. Visit Events page for upcoming trainings.
