Fundamentals of Integrative Harm Reduction Psychotherapy

  • The New School- Wolff Conference Room 6 East 16th Street, room 1103 New York, NY, 10003 United States

Dr. Andrew Tatarsky and I will be leading our annual intensive 3-day training on the Fundamentals of Integrative Harm Reduction Psychotherapy this December.

Integrative Harm Reduction Psychotherapy is a treatment for individuals struggling with addictive and risky behavior. An alternative to the Abstinence-Only Approach, Integrative Harm Reduction is a model that incorporates psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, and bodyoriented practices to treat the broad spectrum of addictive behaviors.

This three-day intensive training will introduce a new model for understanding addictive behavior and an integrative approach for treatment applying Dr. Tatarsky’s 7 therapeutic tasks of Integrative Harm Reduction Psychotherapy. Participants will have the opportunity to practice the skills during role-play activities and are encouraged to bring case material and clinical questions to the training.
